AGGIORNAMENTO: metterei un ulteriore stella, se possibile, dopo aver testato il servizio clienti. E' già capitato che la gatta smarrisse il collarino (con relativo GPS agganciato) andandosi ad insinuare tra rovi, sterpaglie, ecc. e di tornare a casa senza. Quindi il collarino, giustamente, si sgancia per evitare che rimanga intrappolata o strozzata. Una volta sono riuscito a recuperarlo (grazie alla precisione con cui veniva indicato ed al suono che è possibile far emettere dal ricevitore), la seconda no. Vedevo bene dove si trovava il collarino ma era in una zona impervia, praticamente impossibile da raggiungere. Ho quindi, tramite il sito di tractive, provveduto a segnalare lo smarrimento dello stesso e me ne hanno spedito immediatamente uno nuovo. Ho dovuto pagare solo le spese di spedizione! Top
...mi decido a scrivere la recensione. Volevo essere ben sicuro del suo funzionamento reale prima di scriverla. Riassumo il principale pro ed il contro.
Pro: effettivamente potrete tenere traccia del vostro gatto (o cane), la localizzazione funziona bene, non precisa al metro ma funziona. Per ora sembra resistente. Utilissima la funzione del recinto virtuale, verrete avvisati quando il vostro animale lo supera.
Contro: l'aggancio magnetico per la ricarica non sempre aderisce bene, quindi accertatevi che sia effettivamente sotto carica la batteria. Nella confezione potevano inserire un secondo porta tracker (quello in silicone per intenderci), non so quanto l'unico in dotazione potrà resistere.
Sono soddisfatto del prodotto, mi permette di sapere sempre dove si trova il mio gatto (che è libero di entrare/uscire da casa quando vuole). Mi avvisa se supera il recinto di casa, mi permette di ritrovarlo se non vedo tornarlo (per ora è successo un paio di volte). La funzione "live" è utilissima (ma consuma molta batteria, usatela solo se serve quindi). Di norma il localizzatore invia la posizione ogni 10-15 minuti. La localizzazione, come detto, non è precisa al metro (anche stando all'aperto in piena campagna) ma di solito avrà un raggio di tolleranza di 3-5 metri. Va benissimo comunque. Simpatica, e relativamente utile, la funzione che tiene conto dell'attività del gatto (con le varie classifiche ed altro). La batteria non durerà MAI una settimana come indicato nelle caratteristiche ma un paio di giorni si (limitando la funzione live e con una buona copertura cellulare). Io, facendo rientrare il gatto tutte le sere, la metto in carica tutti i giorni. Dovrete comprare, a parte, un collare di sicurezza per il gatto (non è compreso nella confezione). Ne trovate di tutti i tipi a partire da 10 euro su amazon.
Lo ricomprerei? Assolutamente si. Il costo dell'apparecchio è basso, è l'abbonamento che poi costa (100 euro circa l'anno). E' il prezzo da pagare per avere la tranquillità di sapere sempre dove si trova il vostro animale o se è in difficoltà, ognuno quindi tragga le sue conclusioni.

Non è molto preciso ma non posso farne a meno
UPDATE: è capitato che la mia gatta lo perdesse ed il segnale era sparito per parecchio tempo. Contattato il servizio clienti ed in 1 giorno me lo avrebbero rispedito, pagando solo 5 € di spedizione. All’improvviso poi il segnale è riapparso e l’ho ritrovato. Ricontattato il servizio clienti per annullare il sostitutivo e mi hanno anche rimborsato.Ormai ho capito che se il segnale si perde per troppo tempo, vuol dire che la gatta è in un ambiente chiuso. Questo mi è servito quando un giorno quando dopo 3-4 ore non avevo traccia e segnale assente.. l’ho cercata per il vicinato e l’ho sentita miagolare che era chiusa nel capanno degli attrezzi del vicino..Ok che non è precisissimo, che va ricaricato per sicurezza ogni sera e che va disattivata la zona di risparmio energetico in Wi-fi per usare sempre la funzione live, ma penso che se non lo avessi avuto quelle 3-4 ore potevano essere molte molte di più..Ho aspettato un po’ a recensire per capire l’effettiva utilità. Innanzitutto non sono riuscita ad impostare il pagamento mensile; sul sito c’è scritto che per farlo bisogna abbonarsi alla BASIC che quindi ho scelto, ma ho già pagato tutto l’abbonamento di 2 anni. Il dispositivo in sé è leggero e poco ingombrante, tant’è che lo sto usando sulla mia cucciola di 6 mesi che pesa più o meno di 3 kg e non le dà fastidio. Se non usi tanto la funzione live, la batteria può durare anche 2 giorni, ma io per sicurezza ogni sera la ricarico. L’app comunque ti segnala lo stato di carica e ti dà un alert quando è quasi scarica. Premetto che vivo in una zona in cui c’è normalmente poco segnale del cell, ed anche il segnale GPS a volte risulta scarso e quindi la funzione live non va per connessione troppo debole. In alcuni casi non è stato affatto preciso, segnalando la posizione con uno scarto di 3-5 metri. Sulla mappa si può zoommare ma non come vorrei. Non ho impostato la Wi-Fi né il recinto virtuale perché altrimenti non riesco ad usare la funzione live e mi serve sapere se la mia cucciola si trova nei dintorni della casa.

E' difficile trovare un GPS per gatti che non sia ingombrante, scomodo o limitato, questo dispositivo sembra risolvere questi problemi, la batteria è sicuramente il suo punto di forza potendo durare anche diversi giorni, la forma allungata e leggermente curva del dispositivo fa si che sia più "indossabile" e meno fastidioso per il gatto, tuttavia è sicuramente troppo grande e pesante per un cucciolo o un gatto sotto i 4kg di peso.
Si attacca al collare con una copertura di silicone che lo protegge anche da acqua e polvere, temevo fosse più delicata ma finora (circa un anno di utilizzo) ha resistito bene a graffi e maltrattamenti e sembra reggere bene.
Il GPS è preciso quanto basta per individuare la posizione generale, anche se in prossimità di edifici lo scarto arriva anche a 5/10 metri, a volte può succedere che non riesca a prendere il segnale GSM o che non riesca a trovare abbastanza satelliti, specie quando piove o in zone a bassa copertura, ma sono situazioni sporadiche che in genere si risolvono da sole dopo qualche tempo o quando il gatto si muove.
La batteria, come dicevo, garantisce un ottima autonomia che può variare in base a diversi parametri tipo frequenza di aggiornamento, utilizzo della funzione Live, attività del gatto ecc... arrivando a durare anche 6/7 giorni.
L'app proprietaria è di facile utilizzo e può gestire diversi dispositivi, fornisce l'ultima posizione rilevata, la cronologia delle posizioni, e uno schema delle attività registrate per ogni dispositivo, è inoltre possibile gestire e configurare diverse opzioni tra cui recinto virtuale, notifiche e altro, esiste anche un app gemella per il PC con possibilità diverse.
Per utilizzarlo è necessario sottoscrivere un abbonamento con un costo che varia dai 12 ai 4 euro mensili a seconda della durata. E' possibile anche sottoscrivere un l' assicurazione "Tractive Care" che vi permetterà di ricevere un nuovo dispositivo in caso di smarrimento, furto o rottura.
Concludendo, tra i dispositivi simili (e ne ho provati diversi) è sicuramente uno dei migliori, potrebbe forse essere un po' più piccolo e magari più comodo da caricare ma ne consiglio sicuramente l' acquisto.
Personalmente consiglio l' utilizzo con un collare di sicurezza dotato di fibbia a sgancio rapido.

At the beginning I was very skeptical and not very happy to pay the subscription, but I lost the receiver from my previous device and another one stopped working for a while (both without the subscription, but running only on GPS/bluetooth), so I needed a tracker for my kitty which would be reliable, precise, long lasting without the need to be charged every day!! not cheaply made, easy to use and not that expensive - you gonna probably say “there is none like that” or “you get what you pay for”, but Tractive surprised me positively and here is why (I’m also mentioning the CONS, so you can make your own decision if this device is for you):
PROS:
- very easy to instal on your pet’s collar, no rocket science here as the rubber case stays exactly where it should and my kitty never lost the device while running outside or squeezing in tight places (I had to go ballistic before with another brand tracker to put it in and then out for charging or the Findster which had to be, most likely, permanently attached to the collar, so you couldn’t switch and use another one),
- amazing quality: not only for the rubber case, but also tracker itself (no scratches within this past year, no breaking, no stretching case so no loosing the shape, working perfect even being dirty and mudded :) )
- extremely intuitive app, user friendly UI with easy navigation and so many features that I couldn’t find in any others or their usability was just limited (virtual fences - love it - always know when my kitty explores other neighborhoods also those far from home, wellness/activity and sleep tracking - you even get the notifications when the app sees something abnormal without additional fees, Live feature with precise location - my fav btw, very accurate history showing your pet’s fav places he/she goes, radar, etc.)
- battery last at least 3 days (with my use even longer as I let my Loki go out just few times during the all day and he almost always comes back after 1h or so to “check in” :) - other trackers with the same amount of time of his outside time lasted just maybe 12h, so I had to put them to charge every single night!) HUGE PLUS HERE!! And a Game changer for me!!
- charging is very easy just “point to point” with magnetic feature (sure thing I love to use the charging case for the other tracker, but first of all: comparing to the Findster I had to struggle to find the best position to charge it, it was always taking too long while with Tractive it’s like 1…2… click-click -> done!, second: I just noticed Tractive is selling the Clip Charger & USB-C Cable, so that’s a huge improvement and it’s a cheap addition which can help you and me out here)
- unbelievably accurate and precise!!!!!!! (I should put it in the first place, but wanted to start from small features) First time ever, I didn’t have to use the sound or light or radar mode to locate my baby!! Before, it was necessary, especially when his blinking collar went off - then I was able to spot him only by those features (which Findster even didn’t have). I believe it’s bc Tractive is using all GPS/GSM/LTE networks!)
- no need for additional device like receiver which is very common for those with no subscription based ones working only with GPS/bluetooth (with Tractive you can switch the collars - two rubber cases were included in my order, so I could attach the other one to another collar - why to use more than one collar? check my summary and you will know)
- subscription options cheaper than the other ones: yup! nobody like to pay additional fees, me neither, but once I gave it a try (during the first few months I was paying monthly fees for using Tractive to check if it will work well) I switched to the annual subscription and recently decided to pay for 2 year plan as it works just perfect and already saved my kitty’s life couple times!!
- NEVER lost the connection!! Always was able to connect to the tracker even with my low quality WiFi or my kitty being out of the bluetooth range - again I believe it was possible only thanks to the GPS/GSM/LTE networks used by Tractive as it has built-in SIM card!
- LIVE SAVER!!! Crazyyyy experience right here (one of a couple) - once I got the notification that my cat went outside the “safe/home zone” and he was in move changing his location every second leaving my block (Live feature being on) - there was no point to run after him as the location was changing too fast, so I jumped into my car to follow him and it appeared he was at somebody’s truck driving away from our home… I went ballistic to stop the driver before he got to the freeway and I made it, finding my Sweetie Pie scarred on the truck’s bed!! If you can name other tracker which would help you out in the same way and situation as Tractive did - stick with it and keep it!
- PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT - ok, this should be listed definitely as first as I didn't only receive notifications that something might be wrong with my kitty’s behavior (perfectly spotted when he got injured and wasn’t going out for a while)!, but I also got a response regarding my reported issue right away!! (I made a mistake choosing wrong subscription and the Support Team was on it within less than 24h!! HATS OFF!!) Also the Seller representative contacted me couple days ago asking if I’m satisfied with the product and if I need any help with it!! After a year of being just a regular customer - how cool is that??!!!
CONS (yup there are some):
- the device is kinda big (way bigger than the devices I used before), but Tractive came out with a smaller one as well (mini version) so please check this out!
- sound and light features to let you know where your pet is - this must be improved for sure!! The little diode and such quiet sound might be pet’s friendly but not owner’s friendly for sure!! I can barely hear the sound (yeah! it doesn’t freak out your “baby”, but when you need it most - it’s almost useless!! the diode flashes, but it’s so small - like a dot - you can barely see it!! and again barely hear the sound where there are other noises around.
- subscription fees: yeah, I know I put them also in the PROS, but I just wanted to point out that even they are cheaper considering the features we get and that the Tractive works not just on bluetooth mode, but also on GPS/GSM/LTE with built-in SIM card, you might not like it! So even the fees are are not that expensive, be aware that in order to use this device you must pay one of the available subscription plans!
- the device comes only in one color (navy blue) which might be not likable for everyone, but…. Tractive offers different colors for their cases and collars, so maybe it’s a good solution here.
SUMMARY: very happy with this Tractive device for over a year now!! I’m a freak if it’s about my Sweetie Pie safety!! Tractive never failed and I was able to spot my kitty even when he was on the move and changing his location quickly being “stuck” on that truck I mentioned about! But… if you wanna keep your fur baby even more safe - please, buy him/her a blinking collar or two (to switch while you are charging them) which works perfect at night (about $10 or less on Amazon) and attach the ID tag(s) to them (for about $2-3 with personalized color, shape and notes)! Just in case!!
Again, very happy customer and user here!! Every single time I let my cat go outside, I feel much more confident about his safety when he wears his collar with the Tractive device!!

Español: No solo funciona como se esperaba sino que excedió mis expectativas, muy precisa en el GPS, incluye 2 fundas de alta calidad y buen diseño y 2 stickers donde puedes escribir tu número de teléfono, la aplicación es fácil de navegar y la activación del producto es simple y rápida, un poco caro ya que agregas la suscripción (OJO: No pude encontrar una suscripción mensual dentro de la app, tuve que escoger un plan anual entonces agréguenle otros 1800 pesos MX al total) pero vale la pena por la tranquilidad que me da, 10/10 lo volvería a comprar.

Ich habe den Tracker schon vor 2 Jahren bestellt für unsere Freigängerkatze, welche öfter auch Mal mehr als 1 Tag nicht zu Hause war. Leider kam es nicht mehr dazu den Tracker an ihr auszuprobieren, da sie dann leider für immer verschwunden war. Wir wissen bis heute nicht was ihr zugestoßen ist.
Wir haben aber noch 1 Kater (1 Nachkömmling von ihr) Er ist jetzt 1 1/2 Jahre und mittelgroß. Unser Leo ist eigentlich immer sehr zuverlässig jeden Tag zu Hause, aber er ist auch oft stundenlang draußen unterwegs. Er hat im Keller unseres Hauses seinen festen Schlafplatz und Futterplatz und kann freiwillig ins Haus oder nach draußen gehen. Er hatte zuvor nie ein Halsband getragen. Nun hab ich mir gedacht da ich den Tracker eh hier habe, probiere ich ihn mal an unserem Leo aus.
Erst war er nicht sehr begeistert, da der Tracker doch etwas groß ist. Leo ist mittelgroß und wiegt ca 3,5 kg.
1. TRACKINGVERSUCH lief sehr gut bis der Tracker angezeigt hat, dass Leo scheinbar draußen schläft. Ich hab mich schon gewundert, dass Leo mitten auf einem Feld ein Nickerchen macht mitten in der Nacht. Das war das letzte Update was ich vom Tracker hatte. Am nächsten Morgen kam mein Leo mir dann im Keller freudig entgegen - OHNE TRACKER. Also haben wir uns auf die Suche gemacht.
Erstes Trackingergebnis - SUPER Wir haben die Stelle gefunden wo der Tracker zuletzt angezeigt hat, leider haben wir nichts gefunden da es geschneit hat. Am nächsten Morgen sind wir nochmal in aller Ruhe zu der Stelle und haben sofort den Tracker gefunden. Leider war der Tracker einzeln am Boden und die Hülle auch. Das Halsband war nicht zu finden. (siehe Fotos) Wir vermuten, dass Leo selbst Pfote angelegt hat und dass er den Tracker abgespielt hat. Die Hüller sah auch aus als hätte er selbst noch wild drauf rumgebissen. Auch der Tracker hat seine Zähne spüren müssen. - ALLERDINGS war es, glaub ich, mein Fehler weil mir erst nicht mehr bewusst war, dass man den Widerstand vom Halsband einstellen kann. Das Halsband hat 3 Stufen und ich hatte scheinbar die Stufe mit dem geringsten Widerstand eingestellt und somit hat er den Tracker selbst abbekommen. - ZUM GLÜCK hatten wir aber den Tracker wieder. Ich habe gleich noch Ersatz Halsbänder bestellt in rot und Hüllen für den Tracker.
2. TRACKINGVERSUCH lief auch super. Halsband auf höchsten Widerstand gestellt und los gings. Der Tracker war auch am nächsten Morgen noch dran. TOP Tracking; war wieder super aufgezeichnet. Gegen Mittag war Leo wieder kurz aktiv und ich hab gleich geschaut wo er war über die App. Er war aber noch auf unserem Gelände. Wir haben ein größeres Feld am Grundstück und erst dann kommen Nachbarhäuser. Ich war dann auch draußen und hab ihn dort gesehen wo die App gezeigt hat. Dann bin ich wieder auf unseren Hof und auf einmal hab ich KATZENKAMPF Geräusche gehört und konnte erkennen, dass der Nachbarkater und unser Leo eine kurze Auseinandersetzung hatten. Ich bin dann gleich hin und hab unseren Leo eingesammelt. Zum Glück klang er schlimmer als es sich angehört hat. Er hatte keine Verletzungen, ABER das Halsband war wieder weg. Es hat sich beim Kampf gelöst. TOP
3. TRACKINGVERSUCH - Ich realisiere gerade, dass unser Leo ein ziemlich großes Revier hat. Wir wohnen auf einem Dorf am Rand von Berlin und tagsüber ist relativ viel Verkehr. Leider überquert unser Kater auch eine große Bundesstraße. :(
FAZIT:
- ABSOLUT EMPFEHLENSWERT (ich war überrascht über das große Revier von unserem Kater)
- TRACKER - sehr robust - könnte etwas kleiner sein
- HALSBAND - super- Farbe könnte etwas auffälliger sein, aber kann man auch individuell in anderen Farben bestellen - bleibt gut dran wenn es muss, geht aber zur Not auch schnell auf (siehe oben, Katzenkampf)
- AKKU - Hält gut, aber ständiges Live Tracking zieht schon schnell Akku
- SUCHFUNKTION - TOP auch dass er anzeigt, dass Bluetooth verfügbar ist. Dann weiß man dass man sehr nah am Tracker ist
- SOUND vom Tracker, sehr katzenfreundlich, aber draußen am Tag in der Nähe von Autos etc kaum zu hören
- GPS- draußen super, aber im Haus bei uns bekommt ich kein GPS
- ZUBEHÖR- super und auch nicht teuer
- APP - sehr intuitiv und hat tolle Funktionen, wie zb den virtuellen Zaun den man auch immer neu anpassen kann
- 1 Mal wöchentlich wird das Revier angepasst, indem sich Deine Katze bewegt
- Super Funktion mit Heatmap und auch Verlauf wo man sehen kann wann und wo sich die Fellnase lange oder kurz aufgehalten hat.
- GPS nicht 100% akkurat bei Gebäuden, aber ausreichend, Beispiel: Der Kater war bei uns im Garten wo eine Scheune steht und laut App war er in der Scheune, aber er war draußen.
Ich kann den Tracker jedem empfehlen, speziell mit Freigänger Katzen. Ihr werdet Euch vielleicht wundern wo Euer Liebling überall rumstreunt ;-)
